Southern Soul Survivors, Inc. Team Members

All of our Team Members currently work on a voluntary basis. We couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to serve others who are in need of love, mercy, and grace.

Heidi Peterson
Founder / Treasure
God has brought me through some tough times, and He has guided me to a place where I can serve others. It is my goal to eventually grow Southern Soul Survivors to provided additional services. I believe God brought me on this path to lead others to resources that weren't available to me when I was struggling through hard times. I credit Our Lord and Saviour for all that He has and is making possible for our organization.

Kim Irby
Chair / Secretary
I have somewhat of a passion for helping those who have fallen on hard times. I believe we all have a responsibility to help our fellow man and than in so doing, we are humbled as we are reminded it could so easily be us.
Myia Wilkerson
Chair / Chatham School and Media Liaison
Having been a resident of Chatham County for over 24 years and currently working for the County Public School System, my heart has grown to love the citizens living here. God has given me a gift which allows me to communicate with ALL people. Without God none of this would be possible, He is the rock and foundation on which my values are built. I know that I am able to contribute in helping others, that is why I am so excited about being a part of the Southern Soul Survivors, Inc. Organization. “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” Frederick Douglass

Savannah Care Center Liasion
Loving people helped me when I was in great need so now I want to share that love with others! By volunteering at Savannah Care Center we’ve seen that happen since my grown daughters were in elementary.

James 2:14-26 (NIV)

14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it ? 17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

18 But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds.
